Jpen Forehand Flick

Strokes

Hi Pingskills,

Could you guys either yourself or have someone demonstrate the forehand flick using penhold (preferably Jpen but Cpen would be okay also) when returning short backspin serves?

I've always found the shakehand, backhand banana flick a very natural/easy return against short backspin serves. However when playing forehand with penhold, I find this much more difficult.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

A lot of the principles are the same regardless of the grip. Try to hit the ball at the top of the bounce and think of the stroke as a mini smash. You need to adjust the angle of your bat depending on the spin.

We'll see if we can get someone who uses the penhold grip to demonstrate this.
