Why is j-pen never used anymore in this modern era of table tennis?

Hi Jason,

I think it is mainly because it is more difficult to play the Reverse Penhold Backhand.  This limits the flexibility of a player to use both sides and forces them to rely more on their movement.

The last player who used the j pen style was Ryu Seung Min(if I'm not wrong ). His a pretty good player.
