Keeping in touch no table

Training

hi pingskillers,

I am happy to say that after joining pingskills and after playing continuously, I have now developed some feel of the racket, the ball, the table, and I can read some spin now.

I am going to my native village for a vacation for 20 days and there are no table tennis tables or players there. I may have a tournament immediately after coming back. How do I make sure that I don't lose what I have, in this vacation, with access to only a bat and a ball?

Thanks

Hi Rana,

I am glad that you have seen improvement in your game.

There are a few tips in our lesson on Practicing Alone depending on your level.  Also try doing some shadow play.  That is practicing your shots without the ball.

You could also do some visualisation.  So close your eyes and go over your stroke and techniques in your mind.  This can also be a powerful tool.

Lobbing Tactics

If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!

That's so thoughtful an answer from your part. The visualisation technique you suggested sounds promising. Can't wait to try that out.

thank you
