Serving

Hi PingSkills!

Since coach Alois is left-handed, can you guys show me some good service that would put the ball on my forehand side? I have tried the reverse pendulum serve and it worked wonders, but I get the feeling that I should have another one for backup just in case they my opponents get used to me serving sidespin to the left. Oh yeah, should I get a spinnier rubber but harder to clean rubber or less spinnier but really easy to clean?

Thanks!laughing

Hi Kong,

Experiment with other serves.  Where the return comes is more about the placement rather than the type of serve.  As you progress the players you play will be able to return the ball wherever they want but where you serve will influence their natural reaction to where they return the ball.  Most players will return the ball cross court.

Regarding rubber, get a good quality rubber.  They are all easy to clean.
