Strokes
Hi again!
I'm having trouble with the spinny topspin, I usually brush the ball finely which is good to get a lot of spin, but my spinny topspins are always short, I play with a lot of blockers and they are always close to the table and punch my spinny topspin, my question is, how I can practice to get my spinny topspin at the end of the table?
I have thought two things
1. Open a little the angle of the bat to get more foward momentum
2. Put a target in the end of the table and aim to it
I think my topspins are short because I close the bat a lot and brush the top of the ball and not the back of the ball
Do you have any suggestions? It is correct to open more the bat and brush a little bit more upwards rather than foward?
Hi Francisco,
It is good to see you using this shot more.
I like your idea for training this with the target. However, to get the ball longer you could actually brush more on the top and less on the back. This will give you better length. If you put the targets on the table you may not need to even worry about the technical aspects of it and allow your instincts to adjust the stroke.
The forehand block is one way to counter a topspin stroke hit to your forehand side. Learn this stroke and you will be able to keep yourself in the rally even when your opponent get the first attack in.

Hi
I played in leage last weekend and I recorded myself, i want to show you my tecnique on this

The first point, the topspin goes very short to be an "aggresive" shot
The point in 00:30 the same
Looking at me seems like I do the swing a lot upwards
I'll be working on this

I used to play like that and had the same problem many, many times :)

Yes it is upwards a little more over the top will give you a longer ball. The stroke itself is very good though.
