Training
Sir my name is Tushar Rajguru. I played Table Tennis for almost 7 years and then I dropped it for almost 1 year due to some personal reasons and is starting again from today itself. My upcoming tournament is from 13th of July in which all (almost) the players of my category are more experienced and better than me . I can just practice for 3 hours per day due to adverse timing of the club I practice in. Also almost all the players in the club I practice are below standard except a few. I have a coach also. So can you give me any tip on how can I develop my game in less than a months time . I am ready to do whatever it takes, whatever.
So please reply as early as you can. Should I practice blocking and counter game more and focus less on practicing topspin?
Hi Tushar,
The main thing is to focus on some game drills for the next month. Work on your serving and receive of serve and also your third ball attack. These are the main things that are important in matches.
This type of training can be done with all levels of players especially the third ball training. When you get a chance to play with better players you can practice your return of serve.
Sometime it isn't the length of time you train but how well you focus in your training.
The forehand topspin off backspin is one of the most important strokes in Table Tennis. Even more important is the ability to serve and then make this attack off the 3rd ball. This is one of the most common tactics in Table Tennis and one you should practice regularly.
