Hi Judah,
I haven't noticed that. Do you have any footage where you can show us this.
We challenged ourselves to play a full table tennis match—but with a twist! 🏓
Each serve, the opponent had to use a randomly selected weird racket, including a tennis racket 🎾, meat cleaver 🔪, frying pan 🍳, book 📕, and more! Can you actually win with these ridiculous items? Watch to find out—and let us know which one YOU would want to use!
🎁 Mystery racket reveal at match point—don’t miss it!

He does this because his fh rubber (Hurricane 3) is not as consistent to smash with compared to his bh rubber. His bh rubber (Tenergy 64) is much more easier and consistent to perform that kind of shot.
Mind you I've only seen him do this very rarely and only against people who can lob consistently such as Mizutani.
