If i'm not wrong, he uses DHS Power PG-7 with Hurricane 3 Rubber with Blue Sponge on his forehand, and Tenergy 64 on his backhand :D And if i'm not wrong on this either, this combination is hella heavy; Chinese blades and rubbers, especially by DHS are quite a chunk to hold, haha!

Thanks for the view of the shed. Also I particularly appreciated the video on the pen holder Tomahawk serve. I play shake hands, but your demonstration helped me better understand how to get under, top. and side spin.
I am still having trouble with the pendulum serves. I can not seem to get very much speed into these shots.
Thanks again.

Hi Bob,
For the Pendulum serve try to relax your wrist and flick it back and then forward like a snake striking.

Hey Michael,
Ma Long now uses
BLADE: DHS Hurricane Long 2
BLACK FH: DHS NEO Hurricane 3 (blue sponge)
RED BH: Butterfly Tenergy 05
Chinese team can use any blade and backhand rubber as long as the FH rubber is DHS and black (cause black is spinnier).
Rahul Kumar Posted 12 years ago
@Cloud Cledera, is black really spinnier? Are you sure? I thought that both colors are the same if they are the same rubbers....
mat huang Posted 12 years ago
Same but i'm not sure about the spinnier part
Lukas Oberbanscheidt Posted 12 years ago

The Chinese national tea gets almost everything for free. But they like to use product from China because they get special versions. Many Chinese national players use Stiga blade cloned to look like DHS at the handle because of sponsorship rules. But the reason they use black most time is because DHS make a special rubber and sponge for them That has a blue sponge and black top sheet because it pairs better with the blue sponge. Also quality control can be an issue.
He uses DHs long 3 blade . FH - DHs hurricane 3 national blue sponge version . BH- DHs hurricane national white sponge.
Shaun Synot Posted 7 years ago
I think his forehand rubber is 41.5 degrees and his backhand rubber is 37 degrees with a thickness of 2.10 both sides because they add boost. Here is a link to a picture of Wang Liqin's blade without rubber, as you can see it is a STIGA Offensive Classic CR with a DHS Handle. You can't tell what a pro uses just going by the handle.
Ma Long doesn't use commercial rubber while the brand is highly known and used, he uses a custom-made rubber that is mainly for him which has a very low angle, most players cannot use that type of rubber.
