Serving
Hi Pingskills! Recently I've watch some videos about Ma Long in tournaments. I'm confuse with his serve. His arm movement look like a pendulum serve but his wrist movement is like a reverse pendulum serve
Hi Xariuz,
Sometimes at the end of his service action he moves his hand the other way to give the deception of a Reverse serve. But you will notice that the ball still moves like a Pendulum serve because he hits it before he makes that fake motion.
Many players unknowingly break the service rules in table tennis. In this video, we break down the official ITTF service rules so you can serve correctly and avoid faults. Whether you're a beginner or a competitive player, mastering the rules will give you an edge in your matches!

You in some other posts told that such a deception is not allowed. It is the bad camera angle that makes us view such deceptions. Then how he makes those??
Hi Chandrachur,
You aren't allowed to hide the ball from your opponent but you are allowed to use fake motions with your serve.
