hi coach
i Wondered why a good player like maze don't win in a lot of his important matches
Hi Dola,
It is very competitive at the top level. He is probably just a little behind the top players in general so it is difficult for him to win major titles. However he has reached an unbelievably good level in a game as popular as Table Tennis in the world. Remember it is played competitively in more than 200 countries and he is one of the best.

No I don't think so. He is a very dedicated player. He may have a flashy style at times but that is his way of playing.
I would be very happy to reach his level.

Maze has had some success. Aside from beating a couple of Chinese players in the Shanghai World Championship, I recall him beating both Schlager and Timo Boll to win the European Championship (I think). He has had a bad run with injuries - which hasn't helped. He does tend to wear his heart on his sleeve, which perhaps might be a negative in tense close matches. He has been just one rung down from the very top players in the game for a long time. I've never seen a player hit such outrageous shots (particularly with his BH) far from the table as Maze. There are just some shots I've never seen anyone else hit - Chinese or otherwise. Perhaps no one else would be crazy enough to try!

Hi Ji-Soo,
I knew you would be drawn in when Maze was mentioned. I agree with your comments. A has a fine record indeed including a European Top 12 and a European championships.
