Mid-Distance forehand topspin

Strokes

Hi Aloïs, I'm a 15 years old player from France. I've been playing at mid-distance a lot lately, but I can't seem to get the same amount of spin in the ball than when I'm playing close to the table with my forehand topspin. I also can't seem to hit longer balls, it always either touches the net or just barely goes past it. Do you have any tip on how I could fix this problem ?

Thanks for your answer smile

Hi Dorian,

Try to make the stroke longer and finish higher.  This will generate more power to get the ball further.  Make sure you are still getting the same brushing contact as you are when you are closer at the table.  You could do the drill where you hit 1 or 2 balls from closer to the table and then 1 or 2 balls from further away so that you get the feel of the topspin from the closer shots and can translate that to the further away shots.
