Mental Preparation
Hello Alois and Jeff
When I am playing a table tennis game, I find that if I am losing halfway through the game, even if I am 3 points behind, my body tends to give up. After I am 2 or 3 points behind, everything goes wrong. The easiest shots start going out and I can't win the game after that. However, if halfway through the game I am 2 or 3 points ahead, I play very well for the rest of the game and usually win. I tried playing 2 games with the SAME opponent and this still happened.
Is there anything that can be done? My friends say I am just not very determined to win, but I think I am quite focused on winning.
Thanks
Nishant
Hi Nishant,
This is probably coming from tension and stress. Try to play each point as it comes. Where you are up or down, be determined to play the next point well.
Focus on your tactic for each point rather than the score.
