Hi Im an intermediate table tennis player.Recently I bought a new racquet with great spin speed as well as control. But the bat is a little heavier than the previous one. So could you please give a specific information on the minimum or acceptable weight of a table tennis racquet.

Hi Rahul,

There is no minimum weight.  It is just a matter of picking one up and feeling it in your hand and see whether you feel comfortable playing with it.

Our PingSkills Rook weighs around 185 grams which we think is a good weight for a bat to learn with.  The blade of the PingSkills Touch itself weighs 83 grams then you need to add whichever rubber you want to that.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
