More Power on The Reverse Pendulum Serve

Serving

Hello coaches!

I have recently learned the technique and how to exceute Timo Boll's reverse pendulum side spin.

I can execute it short but the side spin is not very great. Granted the reason could be rubber, but I also want it to be a long serve that could surprise my opponents.

How can I add more power to serve?!

Hi Rammi,

To get the serve faster get your bat to finish pointing more towards your opponent.  To do the short serve you get the bat to finish pointing at the far net post.  So you need more forward momentum to get it faster and further.

You can also get a flatter contact which will get the ball faster.  Like with the principles of all the serves, to get this faster as well, you need to get it to bounce closer to you on your side of the table.

Thank you coach Rosario!

It's very hard to hit the ball when the bat is in a vertical angle like 90 degrees. I always have to tilt the bat to make it hit that ball.

How far should be standing away from the baseline to excute the serve more effectively?

Hi Rammi,

Stand really close to the table.  You should contact the ball as close as possible to the end line.
