Dear Sir,

I am a medium level player aged 43. I use Tibar Genius sound on both sides on Andro All+ wooden ply. I mostly use chops on backhand, and occasional flat shots or loop. On the FH, i use loops and flat shots. I am thinking of trying LP or SP on my bh as my friends say that it suits my style of play.

I feel it would good as pips give more deception and also good for chops. I would like to know as how difficult is for a person who uses inverted to pips. IS moving to LP advisable or should i first try with short pips as I hear it is more close to inverted.

Thanks Ganesh

Hi Ganesh,

If you want to hit then the short pimples would be better because hitting with the long pimples is really difficult.

If you are mainly going to chop then you could try the long pimples.

The best idea is borrow a bat with long pimples on it and see how you play with it.  Then you can make a better decision.

Sir,

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to get a pip racket, but it might be difficult. Those whom suggested pips for me are those whom i meet rarely @ tournaments. From the ttdb.com, i came acros RITC 802-40 SP rubber, which is bit lesser in price. Also many say that this is a good transitioning rubber. Let me try it and come back.

Thanks Ganesh
