Equipment
Hello Alois and Jeff,
Thanks a lot for all the valuable information you share with us.
I wanted to get a quick tip on adjusting with the new bat. I made a customized bat with Mark V 2.2 mm on both sides and a light blade GKI Euro Classic. The overall bat is much lighter than my previous bat. The new bat is performing well and i am well able to control it except for one shot, that is forehand flick from the table. As the new bat is lighter, flicking with previous action sends the ball into the net. Also if I try to play a fast FH topspin from, it goes into the net sometimes.
Rest all shots are good. I know I will be able to adjust to the bat in couple of days, but are there some tips, that can help adjusting better.
Hi Mehul,
I think just time will sort this out. If the ball is always going into that net then open the angle of your racket slightly.
The more awareness you have of each shot and what is happening as you train, the quicker the process will be. There is no substitute for time on the table and number of shots hit.

Thanks for the quick reply Alois...
Is there a video available to demonstrate how to attack awkward heavy backspin balls which are very short AND HIGH. Smashing or flicking them fast looks perfect options and also easy. But in reality they are pretty difficult and tricky.
I developed some muscle memory getting those shots right. But now with change of bat, the same swing and bat angle pushes them in net ( on the topmost part)
I will follow your advice a open the angle a little.
But this has always been my general problem. I would appreciate if you can clarify this as well.( How to attack High short heavy backspin balls)
Hi Mehul,
We do have these. High backspin close to net, Smash/Topspin High Chopped Ball and How Should I Play Medium High Balls?. The last of these is for all members. The others are Premium member answers.
