How do I get adjusted to a new table tennis bat at home without a table?
Hi Dipayan,
You can start by bouncing the ball on the bat. Then you can hit the ball up against a wall or practice some serving by hitting the ball onto any table. It is a matter of feeling the ball on the bat as much as you can to get the feel for the speed and spin it can generate.
Take a look at our tutorial on Practicing Alone for some more tips.
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
