Hi Alois and Jeff! Sam here... I was wondering, if the new poly balls were any different compared to the celluloid balls in terms of playability and spin?
Hi Sam,
They are slightly different in their performance.
They have improved a lot in production over the last year. They have tended to bounce a little higher and has changed the ability of players to play a bit flatter from a higher contact position.
The thickness of a table tennis table is the most important aspect of a table to ensure you get a true consistent bounce. Other things to consider are the net, portability, and storage space.

Though celluloid balls were much better anyway. I am a young man,but I would even favour the old-time 21 points,5 serves,38mm balls system
