How do I outrally someone? Especially if its a backspin push rally? There's this guy I can never beat and he always forces the rally into a push v push, which I can't beat, so how can I

a) beat him in the kind of rally he's good at or

b) change the rally (topspin to topspin is my speciality) p.s he puts a good amount of backspin so if ever he puts too much power and it wouldn't bounce twice I still can't topspin it back

Hi Andre,

I think improving the topspin against backspin stroke is the key.  If you can improve on this then it puts more pressure on your opponent to keep the ball short.  At the moment he knows that if he strays long he is still a good chance to win the point.  If he knows that when he strays long, he will have a topspin coming at him, then it adds pressure to his push.

Take a look at the lesson on the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.

Then also practice your short pushing. By being able to beat him in the pushing game it again will add pressure onto him.
