So i recently switched my grip from shakehand to penhold. It feels more comfortable already, and i like it alot more for my serves. My question is can you post a video showing the correct way to hit a penhold backhand because i cannot find a video on just this subject. Thanks,

Joey

Hi Joey,

We have one in the pipeline.  It has been videoed but we have not had time to edit and upload it as yet.  We are going to combine it with a lesson on playing against penholders as well.

Tactics Against Penhold Players

When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.
