Hello Sir,

I am a penholder.  Is it a good idea for me to have two types of rubber on my racket or i have to switch to shakehand grip. Or penhold grip has more advantage?

Hi Nabeel,

You can have two types of rubber on the penhold racket.  It is a little difficult to change sides but it is possible.  If you are already using penhold grip you can stay with it.  The penhold grip allows you to generate more spin because you can use your wrist more effectively with it.

Try using the reverse penhold backhand. It eliminates the limitation of sticking to one side of the rubber. It allows for the player to generate more spin due to the freedom of being able to use the forearm, shoulder, and tricep at the same time versus traditional penhold backhamds allow only the shoulder. Good examples of players who use RPB are Wang Hao, Xu Xin, and Ma Lin.
