I use a the 5.0 and I am 11 years old.

It has moderate spin and it has the 7 ply blade. Is it good for me? I train with my dad, he was nearly professional in his high 20’s. He just uses my old Franklin bat. He doesn’t go in the hundreds for table tennis bats. After his Pro Carbon broke, he stopped playing competitively. At home I have started training against the wall with a table. I just put the table about 40 centimetres from the wall and I practice my strokes. My dad said I’ll get a custom sriver or something after I learn how to consistently play my forehand topspin and my forehand return.

So, the Question is, Is the Penn 5.0 good for this point/situation.

Hi.

Great to hear you are enjoying learning the game.  I like the way you are going about training.

I think that bat is fine for you at this stage.  Your Dad has a good plan for you.

Keep enjoying.

Choosing a Table Tennis Bat

Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
