Training
hi alois,
so far i play table tennis, i never use speed glue or oil booster. i am playing well with my equipments. however, sometimes when i have topspin to topspin with my oppenent or topspin the heavy downspin ball the ball\'s just catch the net. is it because i didn't concentrate or i need more physical training?
i have jogging, sit up,back up,pick up burbles. i do the physical training when i didn't play table tennis at all.
would you tell me a good physical training for table tennis?
and i want to ask you, what are the tuned rubbers? what's the different between tuned and untuned?
Hi Adrian,
Firstly it is illegal to use speed glue and tune your rubbers so just focus on the playing and skills.
If the ball is going into the net on your topspin to topspin or against backspin, you can think about opening the angle of your bat a little more or making your stroke a bit more vertical. This will lift the ball over the net.
Take a look at a couple of Blogs we have on Weight Training Specifically for Table Tennis and Strength Conditioning for Table Tennis. These should give you some good ideas.
Most drills involve one person performing the exercise and the other placing the ball as required by the exercise. We call this person placing the ball the controller. When you are acting as the controller it is a great opportunity to practice your blocking and concentration. As blocking is an important part of the game you should be 100% focused at this time. You also owe it to your training partner to be blocking effectively so they get the most from their exercise.
