Hi,

How shall u play when playing with pimples rubber? Every time i tried to topspin it was always coming in the net.

What can you do to calm down during matches?  Does the mood of the day effect how you play?

Thx

Hi Daniel,

Firstly, if you are using long pimple rubber it has les friction and is difficult to topspin with.  You are better off using a normal rubber for topspin.  Take a look at our lesson on the effects of rubber.  This will show you how the ball reacts with different types of rubber.

To help to calm down druing matches you cand o things like taking a long slow breath and then focusing on the tactics that you need to employ to win the next point.  The main killer is that we focus on the situation and the score rather than what we need to do to win the point.  The mood of the day can certainly effect the way you play.  This can't always be controlled but you should try to keep things as normal as possible on match days.  Have the same preparation and don't try to do something that you haven't trained.

Take a look at some previous questions about Nerves or you can do your own search in the Ask the Coach questions.
