Hi Alois, so... will we see another tournament 2013? I would never have known Gerada, Kek, Carter or Berry without those cool match commentaries. The UFC like buildup is awesome, and the fidgeting between points really accentuates the drama.

Thanks for bringing table tennis to the fans.

Hi David,

We are considering it at the moment.  I think it will be possible but we haven't set it up as yet.  It will probably be in the second half of the year.

I am glad that you enjoyed the match commentaries.  If there are any suggestions for a Classic and how we can make it better that would also be appreciated.

I do not know much about your Classic matches. Sorry. Of course I saw some of those matches with your commentary. But are they open to all Pingskillers? Anything for us the veterans, the aged eagles? Can I participate in those matches?

Hi Vijay,

The Classic was an invitational event last year.  It is mainly designed to show good techniques and tactics of the better players.

If two opponents agreed, it would be fun and instructive to have them both wear head-mounted slow motion video cameras for a game or two. Put the two views side-by-side on the web site. Most of us will never see what high level players see during a match. Of course, motion sickness might be a problem :)

Interesting Douglas.  Jeff and I were discussing this a few weeks ago.  Jeff has been looking at the GoPro cameras as an idea.  We were wondering if there would be too much motion for it to be useful though.

If anyone has any expertise in this area and has some suggestions we would love to hear about it.

If GoPro is willing to supply the equipment, it's certainly worth a try. My guess is that it would be hard to watch for very long, but for selected detailed replays it would give a unique perspective. A lot of people would like to see the results of the experiment.
