Hi! Alois and Jeff just tell me where should the ball pitch while smashing and looping. I mean like middle of the table or close to the net. And should i concentrate on where the ball should pitch on table for all the strokes. Thank you!

Hi Hari,

For smashing it should normally go quite deep to frce the other player away from the table.

For looping however, you can vary the position of the ball. You can have an effective loop that lands deep on the table and also one that lands close to the net.

If you think about when you are blocking, sometimes you will find it difficult to get good position when the ball drops short and slow with lots of spin and at other times it is difficult to block a fast and deep ball.

During training you could spend some time focusing on where the ball is landing on the other side.

The current Premium lessons that we are filming focuses on just this.
