Play against a consistent looper

Strokes

Dear Coach,

My topspin has become more effective on the second / third ball over backspin.

However, then comes the rally and against very consistent players I simply lose the point.

Is it recommended to topspin during a rally on fast paced balls (little topspin but long).

Regards

Rama

Hi Rama,

In general most shots during the rally are better with topspin.  It is a safer way to play and you can still generate a lot of speed.

Even if you are struggling for time in the rally, play with a little topspin rather than trying to hit the ball fast.
