Though Ma long is not number 1 anymore and though hes loosing when he should win. He is the player i like the most. He has the most enjoyable style of play that i like to watch. I believe mentally in game he is weak but when he is on fire i believe he is number 1.

After World Cup 2014, my favourite player is Quadri Aruna :)
Alois Rosario from PingSkills Posted 9 years ago
Apolonia and Aruna have certainly had big years this year.

I'm a Ma Long fan. I don't think he's mentally weak by the way. It's not because Zhang Jike focuses on the big tournaments or Fan Zendongh shouts after every point that they're mentally stronger. You must be incredibly strong mentally to win the number of matches Ma Long has won. Personally I think Xu Xin is mentally weaker because he will often throw away matches with a disinterested attitude. Still, not weak!
In Europe I must go with Saive, my compatriote, but I have a secret sweet spot for Samsonov. I read about how he was a furious attacker as a kid and when he grew too tall for the sport he chose, needed to resolve to a more defensive style. He's a melancholic figure.

I am a Marcos Freitas fan since his (awesome) victory on Timo Boll. I d' like Hugo Calderano from Brazil (my country) too. He's not the best brazilian in the World Ranking, but he is very young and very promising. And he is (or was) the SIXTH on World Ranking U18... incredible.

And Calderano won a match against Timo Boll (3-0) in the Bundesliga 2014/2015. Awesome victory too.

I personally like Norio Takashima and his apprentice Koji Matsushita.
I like their endurance and ability to flawlessly return seemingly nonreturnable shots.
They are an inspiration for my style and I am dreaming about meeting them someday-but it is impossible.

I have different idols as I follow Ma Long for forehand, Timo Boll for backhand and Dimitrij Ovtcharov for his serves and I play accordingly. And yes definitely Waldner for his defence. Alois what do you think?
Marcin Lonak Posted 9 years ago
I liked Andrzej Grubba and the three swedish worldchampions 89 Appelgren, Waldner and Persson. Persson seemed to be a positive, funny and down to the earth Guy.
today I like Samsonov and maybe Freitas. I also enjoy watching some of the young Japanese players. Also Jo Se Hyuk.
In General, when I watch someone playing, I look for the unpredictable/creative, or at least different to the mainstream and enjoy this the most

Xu Xin and Ma Lin. I also like watching blockers that control the game like Jan-Ove Waldner, Mizutani and He Zhi Wen.
