Playing a table crowding player

Strategy

My aggressive looping style tends to fail against opponents who stand very close to the table which gives me less time to react, often use a dead racket that is unaffected by my spin, and quickly hit the ball flat at sharp angles out of my reach. Any strategy suggestions against such players?

Hi Sajid,

The main thing to do against these sorts of players is to use some variation of speed and spin. Often a slower and spin ball can be more effective.  These type of players like to use your speed against you to place the ball and give you less time.  If they don't have a strong topspin then wait for your time to attack.

We have a course on Match Strategy which includes a lesson on Playing A Blocker which will help you to see some more strategies.
