Strategy
Hi Alois and Jeff,
what would you recommend as basic tactis against players with antispin rubber?
My last opponent in training used one on his backhand (mostly push and blocks, but he also tried some topsins with it) and smashed with his forehand as soon as he had a chance.
He's a younger player and not that good yet, so I won by being more secure and making some good attacks. But there were tournaments and games in our league that I had lost against this kind of rubber already, so I wonder:
What is the basic tactic to choose against Anti-Spin?
thanks, Markus
Hi Markus,
The first thing is to understand that the anti-spin will reverse the spin on the ball. Then you can start to work out what type of spin you want. If you want a topspin ball then you need to play or serve with backspin and vice versa.
We also have a video on this in our Tactics tutorials on Playing Against Antispin.

What is exactly A ANTISPIN RUBBER??
It has no grip on the surface so it is good for returning spin.

Isn't Anti Spin as good as a dead rubber? Like after using Hurricane 3 Neo long enough without changing, all the friction is gone. Doesn't it make it Hurricane 3 Neo anti spin? What's the difference?
