Strategy
Hi guys
Last night I was playing against a player with two types of pimples. He had short pimples on the forehand and long pimples on the backhand. What strategies should I use since there are two different rubbers?
Sasha
Hi Sasha,
A tricky proposition for sure...
Treat each side as you would normally though. The short pimple side will come faster and flatter. They tend to not like the ball with heavy spin, either topspin or backspin. The long pimple side will revere so you can push to that side and expect a topspin ball to come back to you.
It is a matter of watching the ball through a match like this and trying to learn as much as you can as you go through. These players will have weaknesses like any other player so it is a matter of finding their personal weaknesses.
