How do you play with angry people? My practice partner makes a ton of mistakes, and he either blames it on me, or hits the table with his bat. We couldn't get any practice done because of this. He's on a Chen Weixing level.

Hi Romeo,

You could try to use it as a way to practice your concentration.  See if you can maintain your concentration on your own game when this is happening.

The other thing is to try and help them to control their emotions.  Get him to look at the Sports Psychology section.

I don't think "Chen Weixing" cries as much...lol :) It sounds like he has a huge ego. I have played with some angry table tennis players in the past one of which kicked the table during the match and then broke his paddle when the match was over. I do find it more enjoyable playing with the ones who can have fun and still have a serious streak about playing without going overboard. It will be a challenge for you dealing with his anger, but if he continues such behavior, you need to find a different practice partner while working on focusing on your concentration during such immature distractions.

I'm sure Romeo would have already ditched the guy if finding a replacement was that simple eh?  Sadly, there seems to be a shortage of table tennis training partners.  So the decision becomes to either train with a jerk or not train at all.  Good luck!
