Why is Table Tennis not so common like lawn tennis?
Hi Peter,
This really depends on where you live. In China Table Tennis is much more common than Tennis. In fact Table Tennis is very popular in Europe and Asia.
In Australia we have had a long line of excellent Tennis players which helps to explain it's popularity here. Hopefully Table Tennis can become more popular. It is a great game that most people have at least played in their homes and generally enjoy.
I guess it starts with the people. If you love Table Tennis then spread the word. Start playing more and inviting friends to play.

Hi Peter,
That sounds like a great idea. I imagine it would be a very time consuming exercise to start your own club but if you're passionate the go for it. I guess the key is to start small and grow the club slowly if it is proving to be a success.
Good luck!

For those of you who understand a bit of German: there is an interview with Jens Lang (apparently Australia has a German coach?) about tabletennis in Australia. He is holding William Henzel in high esteem.

Lang was interviewed during the ongoing World-Team-Championships in Dortmund. You can find loads of live-coverage on http://www.ittf.com/ btw.
Have fun.
