Strokes
hi
how far should i stand from the table when receiving serves and during a close to the table loop, im about 160cm tall
thanks:)
Hi Jimmy,
As a rule for receiving you should stand just far enough away form the table so that when you are in the Ready Position you can just touch the table.
For the topspin or loop you are in a similar position, perhaps a fraction further away from the table to allow yourself to swing freely. This will also depend on the amount of time you have.
The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.
