Equipment
Hi alois, whenever I get some new balls, they always have this strange powdery feeling and when I hit it, that spot just turns white. So does this powdery thing on the ball affects how we hit the ball and how do you remove it before tournament matches starts? I remember my first official tournament also had this powdery feeling on the ball.
Hi Jasper,
The best thing is to wash the ball before use. That will get rid of the powder.
As an idea though... If you do want to when you play with a new ball you can get good feedback as to where on the racket you are hitting the ball because of the white powder...
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

What about before official tournament matches?
You can wipe the ball vigorously on your shorts it shirt.
