Training and Drills
What are the specific practical steps to be a table tennis professional player who can take part in american tournaments?
Hi Ahmed,
The first thing is to get good basic strokes. Then practice them often.
Training is the real key. Try to join a club so that you can get experience against a lot of different players.
Then you go to some smaller matches and build up to playing in tournaments.
Dream big but take one step at a time.

Can you contact the National Table Tennis Federation? They will know where the nearest clubs are to you.
You can find their details in the ITTF website.

What level do you play at the moment?
First it is important.that you play in a club locally.

I don't know eaxctly my level. I play locally with some players who represent the club in 18- tournaments and sometimes I win when they are not in their top conditions.I had only 6-month coaching but I stopped this coaching now and only play with whoever I can play with. the senior coach of the club tells me that he is satisfied with my performance and keep urging the other players to play with me but the real problem is that they are not very interested in playing with me as I am 42 and not rated.Even when after struggling with my drawbacks and managing to win some hot games the coach says nothing except that" Ahmed, it is enough for today you can go now".The other players play significantly more than me and ofcourse that helps them improve while I stuggle to make them play with me .what makes it even harder is that we Egyptians suffer a lot todays and cerfew is added to our problems which shorten my table tennis time and I feel that the coach is so happy to tell me that no one comes to the club in such days.Briefly I want to play in a more welcoming environment.I adore this game and want to find my colleagus in this passion!

These are the contact details of the Egyptian Table Tennis Association. They would be in the best position to tell you what is available.
