Training and Drills
How do I find a partner to practice with? I play once a week with my pal who had a stroke 7 years ago and can't really spin the ball so the scoring is weighted in my favour. I also play doubles once a week but always have different partners and different opponents.
Roy
Hi Roy,
You may be able to ask someone at the group where you play doubles or find a club in your area. Is this something that you have already explored?
Practice partners are not always easy to find but the search is worth persevering with.

Yes, in short. All the local clubs seem to major on their junior groups....no mention of oldies like me and would approach them if all else fails

Where do you live Roy ?
You could always put a question up on here asking for partners in your location.

Hi Mark
Sorry for delay; only today seen the question. I live in Bedfordshire, UK

That's a pity, not far from me in the context of worldwide but a bit far to be a practice partner, I live in Orpington.
I would make a post on here just in case there is someone closer to you.
I would also definetly join a club even if it seems the coaching is geared towards junior players. I played at home on my table with my neighbour and going to a club has been the best move I made.

Lots of 70 year olds in clubs.

Alois is right,
I think the oldest down my club is a very skillful 82 yr old !.

There are plenty of younger players in the club than that though who fit into your age bracket. I think with club TT it really doesn't matter what age you are. You will play players based on your level regardless of age.

You might well have a point, and I do not feel that old.
