Practicing with short pip no sponge

Equipment

There's a ping pong table at my office and many of my coworkers play daily. They all use the paddles that the office has provided (short pip no sponge). While I can win against most of them with my inverted rubber paddle, I can't play at the same level with the office paddles. Could practicing with short pip no sponge benefit playing with inverted rubber, or will it make it worse?

Hi Bada,

You should stay with the bat you are using now.  Initially the office bats can help with the ability to get the ball on the table and control but once you have made the step up stay with the inverted rubber bat.
