Practise with weaker partner

Training

Hi,

I practise with a partner who is not at all good.  He cannot supply me any backspin, sidespin or topspin balls. He can just give me straight balls that too loose. I generally can hit them well.

So I am not getting any practise on these and when I play a match against different people I end up losing as I dont have the answer for their different spinny shots and also end up missing easy balls (not sure Y is that)

How can I practise.

Hi Piyal,

You should teach him how to feed multi-ball and then you will both get good training.

Lobbing Tactics

If you get pushed back from the table don't just give up the point. Try and and get back into the rally. By lobbing the ball high and deep you give yourself time to get into position. If you can then get some topspin on the ball to force the smasher further away from the table then you are likely to get a weaker smash and then you can take your chance and try to counter attack!
