hey alois!

One more question about pimpled rubbers..... and this time i want to know the principal of pimpled rubbers...... like for eg. if they do a chop.... how would that chop come to me.... would it come to me in the form of topspin or something else? and not only with chop... even with other shots like the counterhit, push, sidespins etc. ..... in which forms would those come to me?

please demonstrate this with a video not only for premium members but for all the members......

hope you understood my question.......

thank you very much!!!

Hi Sarthak,

The principle is that they can not generate as much spin as you can with inverted rubber.  So whatever they do, chop, topspin or any other stroke it will not generate much spin.

If you put a lot of spin on the ball to them then it will come back to you with a lot of spin.  The long pimples will reverse the spin on the ball.

You can see examples of this in our video called Effects of Rubbers.

yeah jeff.... i saw that video and i even understood that long pimples have much lesser spin then  the normal rubbers..... but im actually  confused that what shot to play on backspins, counterhits and chops!

You need to get out on the table and hit against it as much as possible.  This is the best way to learn.  Once you understand the effect of the ball after you have hit it, then you will understand the type of spin that will come back to you.  Once you understand this then you will be able to work out what type of shot to play.  So if the ball is coming back to you with topspin, then you play a shot as you would against a topspin shot coming back from an inverted rubber player.

yeah but i dont know how would the ball come to me if he does a counterhit....... and i even dont know what shot will he do so that the ball comes like a topspin to me

More practice will give you this experience.  Learning the trajectories of the ball and understanding them takes a lot of time because they can be subtly different each time.
