Equipment
Hi Alois and Pingskills
Ago a few time i started to feel strange my rubber, then i started to lose a lot of serves that goes into the net, and today i went to train and i started the warm up, when i started to make forehand topspin they go direct to the net...i don't know what happen, today i feel that i was hiting with a piece of wood.
i am worried, i never loose serves, and my forehand topspin is really consistency...what is happening? is it the rubber?
Please help
thanks
Hi Cristh,
Rub your finger across the surface of the rubber. Does it feel slippery or grippy? If it feels slippery, your rubber may be wearing.
The other consideration is was it particularly cold today when you were playing The temperature f the rubber will effect its performance. If the rubber is cold, it will be harder and won't give you as much speed or spin.
There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

Aside from what Alois suggested, you should check whether your rubber still sticks to the blade uniformly. If there are some spots where the rubber loosens and you happen to hit the ball with those spots, the ball will not have enough power.
Good thought Arnon. This does happen quite often as well.
