At the present, I am satisfied with the progress in my game since I started playing 9 months ago. Although there's only around 15 people I've encountered on my college that actually have a passion for the game to any degree, I am the best among them, including the guys on the table tennis club. It's really cool knowing that I am the best out of my campus of a few thousand people, as well as knowing that if I meet someone new in my life who happens to "play" the game, I have a very good chance of being better than them.
My question to both you and Jeff is if throughout your years of playing, did you encounter people who didn't know how good you were, while they were sure they would be better, and just smiled to yourself when they challenged you to a match?
To me, it's an awesome mix of emotions when this happens haha, knowing you're about to show someone a level of play they haven't seen before.
I know I'm still a child compared to the real world of competitive table tennis, but even being better than the other cocky college guys who think they are great at everything is still so awesome showing them how the game is actually played.
Hi Dakota,
It is always interesting to talk to people about Table Tennis and their abilities. Everyone thinks they can play the game well because it is a game that everyone can play at some level.
Enjoy the feeling of being good at something.
