As an older player how can I improve my reaction time

Hi Bill,

One way may be to utilise Multi-ball.  If you can get someone to feed multi ball to you at a faster rate than you would get in a match this might help.

Otherwise it is a matter of playing more and funding some better players that hit faster to allow you to adapt to the faster ball more easily.  I think a lot of reaction time is about staying calm and being able to watch the ball clearly at that moment.  When we see a fast ball for the first time, the natural reaction is to tighten up and panic because of the speed.  This in turn slows down our reaction as our muscles are tight and our brain isn't functioning clearly with the speed.

As you get tp the speed you will be able to relax and watch the ball more effectively.
