Receiving

Hey coach, I stand at the very corner of the table like Ma Lin when I receive a serve however when my opponent serves very fast to the other corner of the table I have trouble returning it. How do I return it? Cross step, shuffle speedily, or lunge?

Hi Noah,

You will notice that by the time his opponent hits the ball he is in quite a central position.  I think you can start from that central position which will allow you to get to that wider ball on the forehand.
