Hi, coaches!

When my opponent does fast topspin with sidespin then ball changes its direction after touching my table.

To loop it I must wait until the ball raises. But it is too risky to react when ball changes its direction. Of course, sometimes I did successful loops. But I usually miss, even when I catch it, ball touches wrong place of my racket.

Then I didn't risk and I react early, tried to block it to do more safe shots.  Block works good, but when I block, my opponent continues to attack. What do you suggest?

Hi Ardak,

If you can focus on the ball well you will start to track the direction earlier.  The ball will swing in a constant direction with a certain amount of spin.

By watching you will learn the direction and be able to see where you need to be to make that next shot with topspin.  This is much more effective than blocking because as you are finding it will allow your opponent to maintain the attack.

Watching and tracking is such an important part of the whole game.

May be i couldn't explain clear about my block. When I block, I just put my closed racket to the point where the ball touches my table.

I am not understand wrong, I must learn to catch and loop balls which are changing directions.

Thank you very much!
