My question is that I am not able to receive the side spin serve. I have tried backhand topspin chop but I am not able to receive this serve.

Hi Ayush,

To reveive the sidespin serve you need to use the angle of your bat to get the ball back.

If the ball is going off to the left then you need to face your bat to the right and vice versa.

I find it more difficult when faced with a new player i havent played before at recognizing their arm movement when they sidespin serve.  it is often quite hard to spot how they contact the ball because they do deceiving movements to disguise what they have done to the ball.  of course if you know they have put sidespin on it is easy to counter it, the hardest thing when receiving serve for me is getting through their deception.
