How to return a backspin serve when the opponent does a 3rd ball attack.

Hi Jack,

The best thing is to be able to push the ball back short on your opponent's side.  This will make it more difficult to make a 3rd ball attack.

If you can't it short then think about making the return more effective by pushing the ball fast and long to a difficult position for the server.
