Recommendation for a Slower Server

Serving

Recently, I realized I don't put a lot of power on my serves. Is there a type of serve that exploits that, perhaps with backspin?

Hi Frank,

Actually a slow serve can be very effective especially if you serve it short so it would bounce twice on the table. The key to a good short serve is to keep it low over the net and then it is very difficult to attack. Adding backspin can help prevent attacks too, but another key to a good serve is to vary the spin. Sometimes add lots of backspin and sometimes add a little backspin. Then also vary the type, sometimes throw in a topspin serve.

There are lots of good serves that can be used but perhaps start with the backhand serve.
