Strokes
Recently I realised that my swings are a little weird in the sense that they are not so conventional and my swings are a little too big (for loops).
When practising in a normal rally, my loops seem fine. However, when playing matches, my swing seems to be too big when I loop, and i use less of my waist, which i am supposed to when looping. Especially when the ball is slightly out of reach, I tend to use more of my arm strength to loop the ball up, which is not the correct technique. When looping backspin with the backhand, my swing is also a little too big.
How can I correct my techniques and have more "normal"/conventional strokes?
I use Nittaku Hurricane 3 on my Forehand and Nittaku Hammond Pro Beta on my Backhand
Hi Paul,
Focus on your start and finish positions in training. Try to make sure that the finish position in particular is not too far away from you.
Also make sure that you are balanced when playing the stroke.
Perhaps in arches you are tightening up a bit and forgetting your basic techniques that you seem to be able to perform in training.
