Replacing rubbers

Equipment

Hi,

I used to belong to a table tennis club that would play once a week.  Some players would pull up their rubbers every week and glue it back down to increase the spin and speed of the rubbers.  Is this a good idea?

Hi Rob,

This is what players did when they used speed glue.  The speed glue is not allowed anymore so there is not a real need to regale rubber so regularly.  The speed glue used to expand the sponge and were off in a few hours so that is why they used to reglue so often.

The water based glue that is used now doesn't effect eh rubber much at all.
